Lincad Ltd - Guildford - Solar PV Installation

The project in Guildford involved the design, supply, and installation of a 50 kWp photovoltaic system, complemented by a bespoke display unit for the entrance foyer. This sustainable energy initiative was designed to provide clean energy while serving as an educational and interactive feature for visitors and staff. The system was carefully tailored to the site's needs, ensuring both functional and visual harmony. The installation is expected to deliver an annual energy output of 42,194 kWh, contributing significantly to the site's energy independence..

Peter Slade, Project Manager at Lincad, said: “As a power management company, it makes total sense for Lincad to take advantage of readily available solar energy to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of our operations. And, significantly, it allows us to reduce our carbon footprint, further illustrating that Lincad takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously.” https://www.lincad.co.uk/

Key services included a detailed structural assessment of the roof to confirm its suitability for supporting the photovoltaic system, as well as a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) application to secure grid connection compliance. Advanced 3D modeling using PV Sol 3D optimized the design for maximum efficiency. Scaffold access facilitated a safe and effective installation process, while support for Feed-in Tariff (FIT) applications and DNO notifications ensured smooth project execution. The system features 188 Bisol 265W photovoltaic panels mounted on a VanderValk trapezoidal roof mounting system and two Solis three-phase inverters, ensuring reliable energy conversion.

The environmental and financial benefits of the system are substantial. With an estimated annual CO₂ savings of 22,320 kg and annual energy savings of 31,646 kWh, the project reflects a strong commitment to sustainability. The system is projected to generate annual financial benefits of £6,537.00, combining FIT and export tariff income of £2,423.00 and direct energy savings of £4,114.00. Over its lifetime, the system is expected to deliver significant cost savings, making it a robust and eco-friendly investment for the Guildford site.
